Hello empyre,

I am Sarah O'Brien from Lancaster University, UK. I have a (short) 
background in contemporary theatre practices, and now, for my sins, I'm 
doing a PhD that involves perception in a prosthetic culture and looks at 
the idea of ?presence? within non-actual space. This is a two-way research 
post as it is fed by my artistic practice, which, briefly, attempts to cover 
alternative methods of merging the live and the pre-recorded, into live, 
digital and pre-recorded spaces.

It is very nice to meet/read you all, and I'm am very much looking forward 
to the Metal and Flesh discussion from the 15th onwards (I think it's the 
15th?).
